Manager Clinical Education And Clinical Nurse Educator

Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
• Assists in meeting requirements of regulatory agencies including DNV, CMS, and other agencies as appropriate to the service area.
• Incorporates evidence-based practice into program design
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to improve the competency of all staff members and the delivery of patient care services.
• Collaborates with other members of the interdisciplinary team, identifies and implements educational initiatives that support the highest quality of care delivered.
• Reviews, revises, and establishes policies and standards of care which support exemplary patient care.
• Precepts, consults, and mentors nursing leadership, clinical staff, and/or students to further their education, participate in professional development, and pursue nursing national certification.
• Documents, analyses, and revises orientation/residency outcomes. Links the outcomes of orientation practices to patient care outcomes.
• Encourages an environment that positively impacts patient outcomes and conveys a strong sense of advocacy and support on behalf of the staff.
• Participates or leads multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary committees to design and implement education programs to support system-wide goals.
• Participates in/leads AHA programming including BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Works directly with new clinical staff members and their preceptors to help initiate a smooth introduction to patient care practices.
• Assists with data collection and analysis related to nursing quality, NDNQI, etc.
• Serves as the clinical education manager including, scheduling of staff, direct supervision and evaluation of staff, ensuring the department meets mandatory education, certifications and licensure. 
• Actively supports the Clinical Education Dept. and Patient Care Services to achieve excellence and meeting certification requirements for programs such as Beacon, Magnet, Pathways to Excellence, etc. 
• Works collaboratively with leadership and education staff to establish and meet department goals and outcomes.
• Identifies personnel issues and works to resolve the issues using AVP and Employee Experience as resources.
• Conducts disciplinary actions as needed.
• Hires and helps to orient clinical education staff.
• Other duties as consistent with this role.

Education and Experience

• Current NH RN license required
• BSN degree with MSN strongly preferred
• 5+ years clinical experience strongly preferred
• Education and management/leadership experience strongly preferred
• Membership in professional organization and certification in specialty area or nursing professional development preferred.
