Please note that this position can be based in San Diego, CA OR San Francisco, CA OR Princeton, NJ. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.
Position Summary
Acadia is seeking a commercially oriented analytics professional to join our Commercial Insights & Performance team. This role focuses on translating complex healthcare data into clear, actionable insights that shape brand strategy and business decisions. This role will partner closely with marketing, sales, and patient value access teams to identify opportunities, diagnose performance drivers, and inform key initiatives. This position requires strong business acumen, fluency in healthcare data sources, and the ability to communicate the “so what” behind the data. This is an individual contributor role focused on execution and analysis, supporting senior team members and business partners. Direct executive-facing responsibilities will be limited initially, with opportunities to grow over time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze and synthesize data across multiple sources including claims, prescription, HUB, specialty pharmacy, and other commercial datasets to identify drivers of business performance
- Translate business questions into structured analyses and actionable insights that inform brand strategy, patient journey optimization, and field execution
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and performance tracking to monitor key trends across the patient funnel
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, patient support services, market access, sales, and commercial operations team members on key initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, consistency, and usability across datasets
- Communicate insights clearly through presentations and storytelling tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support forecasting, market trends and sizing, and ad hoc analyses as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, business analytics, business, economics, statistics, healthcare analytics). 5+ years of experience in commercial analytics, business analytics, or a related role. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Key Skills
- Experience working with healthcare data such as claims, prescription (Rx), medical claims, or similar datasets
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets (e.g. Snowflake or similar environments)
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to structure ambiguous business questions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into clear business insights
Preferred Skills
- Awareness of advanced analytics techniques; ability to interpret outputs and translate implications into clear business recommendations
- Familiarity with patient journey analytics, funnel analysis, or market access dynamics
- Exposure to forecasting, segmentation, or performance analytics
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis approaches (e.g., basic modeling, testing, or experimentation)
- Exposure to tools such as Python or R for data exploration (not required to be a primary coding role)
Physical Requirements
This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.
