The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 149,088.00 USD - 195,678.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. As a family company, benefits are a key piece of our Total Rewards package as well and we're proud to provide a comprehensive, competitive, and differentiated benefits program that our people and their families value.As we continue to develop our direct-to-consumer (DTC) capability to support our growing house of brands, we are seeking a savvy Retention Manager to join our Digital & Brand Experience team. Based in San Francisco and reporting to the Director of DTC, the Manager, Direct-to-Consumer role plays a pivotal part in the organization to maximize our revenue from repeat customers while spearheading initiatives to activate and engage new customers within our DTC flywheel. This person will own the direct-to-consumer retention business and marketing strategy and work directly with every department on a day-to-day basis - Creative Studio, Brand, Commercial, IT, DTC, operations, and finance to drive business results and brand health. This is an entrepreneurial, hands-on role where initiative, influence, and agility will make a difference to our consumers and serve as a change catalyst for SCJ Lifestyle Brands (LSB).

Please note:
This is an in-office (San Francisco, CA) role. 1 day per week remote.
This role is not eligible for relocation. Key Responsibilities:
Develop data-led retention strategies for SCJ Lifestyle Brands DTC channel that strengthen existing consumer relationships, reduce churn, and maximize customer lifetime value.

Analyze customer data and experience to understand and resolve consumer barriers to re-engagement and purchase.

Oversee retention and customer relationship management (CRM) channel execution including email, short message service (SMS), and Direct Mail for LSB DTC.

Engage, activate, and retain new customers, guiding them on their journey from acquisition to becoming loyal advocates.

Collaborate with creative, brand, and customer success teams to create personalized retention campaigns and initiatives.

Leverage automation, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) across our site and marketing channels to optimize engagement and improve customer retention.

Lead data team members to establish CRM objectives and key results (OKR), report out monthly results, and learnings/implications.

Partner with DTC team on customer programs and activations such as loyalty, referral, reviews, and subscriptions.

Continuously stay abreast of competition and e-commerce trends to identify new e-commerce opportunities.

Full-time, regular schedule for corporate role

Office work environment: Remote work available once a week for eligible employees (day of week rotates quarterly), 5 days/week first 90 days

Required Experience You'll Bring:
7+ years in digital marketing within the eCommerce industry

Bachelors Degree

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Experiences and Skills:
Email, SMS experience with deep understanding of designing and managing consumer journeys

Ability to manage across technical, business, and creative objectives and capabilities

Demonstrated success in driving a unique approach to strategic retention marketing

In-depth knowledge and experience with digital marketing and DTC tech stacks (e.g. BigCommerce/Shopify, Klaviyo, Yotpo, subscription platforms, data tools, etc.)

4+ years working in consumer packaged goods (CPG), beauty or personal care products

Experience managing, segmenting, and optimizing large CRM databases

Ability to flex between strategic thinking and tactical execution based on business needs

Keen design eye with ability to provide clear direction and feedback to optimize creative

Demonstrated leadership across functions and levels

Comfort with ambiguity and pressure from multiple stakeholders

Outstanding communication skills - both oral and written

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate metrics into actionable insights

Skilled in agile methodologies and approaches

Ability to translate business, marketing, and consumer needs into technical requirements

Proven track record on business management and commercial results
