Description

  • Monitor EHS performance, identify risks, areas of improvement, conduct and manage EHS audits and on-site inspections to identify EHS workplace hazards. 

  • Manage investigation of EHS incidents, prepare reports and recommendations, implement waste management programs, develop and drive EHS trainings , manage relationships with community of EHS stakeholders. 

  • Research, evaluate and recommend changes to improve EHS performance. 

  • Provide expertise and advice on EHS issues to area managers and plant managers. 

  • Eliminate the risk of occupational injury and illness, and environmental non-compliance in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of EHS professionals.

  • Implementation of EHS systems according to norms ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS.

  • Maintain relationships with the community, EHS groups, or other stakeholders impacted by the EHS performance of the organization. 

  • Coordinate compliance audits, inspections, including insurance inspections.

  • Ensure all new equipment meets all legal and YF requirements. 

  • Manage the plant’s occupational health provider. 

  • Set the standard and cultivate the EHS culture in the plant. 

  • Quality System: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Quality requirements.

  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.

  • Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.

  • Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.

  • Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures. 

  • Employee must have the ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.

  • Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.

  • Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).


  • Bachelor's Level Degree



  • Area of Study: EHS or related field.



  • *Equivalent work experience or professional certifications obtained by applicants (e.g. CSP, CIH, CHMM, Registered Nurse, etc.) may also be considered for certain positions



  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience in EHS.



  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.



  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.



  • Experience of a minimum of two years in managing regulatory compliance in OSHA, worker’s compensation, manufacturing health and safety training, environmental and ergonomics. 



  • ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 requirements including internal and external customers such as OE and NGO requirements; training and record keeping requirements, ISO documentation requirements and formats.
