  • Oversee the development and maintenance of engineering documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and software source code

  • Drive performance validation of internally and externally developed products.  This includes developing internal tools/fixtures needed to validate performance and reliability of products, core technologies, and batteries

  • Drive best practices, rigorous design execution, to deliver innovative and high performing designs on schedule

  • Heavy collaboration with cross functional product and engineering teams.

  • Collaborate on embedded or PC-level software tools to control PCB test fixtures and development tools.

  • Create/execute verification and validation protocols.

  • Follow PAX Labs’ design control and documentation procedures

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years in consumer products and/or other product development

  • Deep knowledge of electronic hardware and firmware design, including PCB design, schematic capture, and programming languages such as C/C++ and Python

  • Strong track record of shipping products and managing them through their entire life cycle

  • Experience working with Asian manufacturing and supply chains

  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and data analytics skills

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have seen multiple product cycles from start to finish and shipping consumer hardware at high volume.

  • Be a creative problem solver and make data-driven decisions.

  • Have experience working with development partners in a JDM style engagement

  • Be hyper organized and you won’t hesitate to fix something that’s disorganized or broken.

  • Have a natural tendency to identify inefficiencies and take action to resolve them.

  • Effectively lead and influence others, driving decisions cross-functionally across the org that enable your team or deliver on the best technical solution for the company.

  • Practice servant leadership and realize it’s your first responsibility to unblock the team so they can move forward, while also focusing on coaching and mentoring them along the way.

  • Have a passion for the cannabis industry and experience working with cannabis-related products is preferred

Education

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
