Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman is seeking a Manager 1, Energetics Engineering to lead a team of manufacturing engineers supporting the manufacturing planning and execution of Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS\u0026C) programs across all market areas at the Elkton, Maryland campus. This department is responsible for the development, implementation, and sustainment of manufacturing processes and process control documents that ensure product quality, deliver on the program requirements, and adhere to all internal procedures and external regulations. The role requires a strong balance of technical leadership, people development, and operational execution across a complex and diverse technology environment.\n\nNorthrop Grumman\u2019s PS\u0026C facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS\u0026C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.\n\nElkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Discover charming small towns, parks with miles of trails, specialty and antique shops, award winning restaurants, and inns. You can hike, bike, camp, bird watch, ride horseback, or drop a fishing line. Five rivers, Chesapeake Bay and the C\u0026D Canal can be explored by boat or by land. Experience panoramic views from Turkey Point Lighthouse on a bluff overlooking the Bay, or from the banks of the C\u0026D Canal where ships from around the globe cruise. https://www.ccgov.org/government/tourism\n\nSpecific responsibilities include:\n\n * Monitor, mentor, and coach employees to ensure they are meeting expectations\n * Provide formal feedback and development opportunities to employees\n * Ensure the organization is providing adequate support to all production areas and PS\u0026C programs \u2013 initiating and implementing organization improvements as needed\n * Lead, develop, and implement process, system, and site improvements\n * Lead special investigations or projects\n * Establish and track overhead budgets\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of experience or a Master\u2019s of Engineering degree with 5 years of experience\n * 3 years of project, program, or people leadership experience\n * Leadership qualities desired with demonstrated success in:\n * Allocating time and resources supporting team members\n * Ongoing and immediate feedback\n * Open sharing of information and knowledge\n * Encouraging suggestions and ideas from team members\n * Experience in working with aerospace specifications and requirements.\n * Strong mechanical skills and exposure to a manufacturing environment\n * Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels\n * Excellent computer skills and understanding of process and automation control\n * Ability to establish schedules and workflows with the capability to quickly adapt to changing priorities\n * Excellent communication and technical presentation skills\n * Ability to convey clear and concise direction and expectations\n * Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience using SPC to monitor and improve processes\n * Lean manufacturing certification/experience\n * Prior Program Manager experience\n * New facility design and start-up experience\n * An active DOD Secret or higher clearance\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
