This position is for a Functional Homeroom manager for a GNC section at the Rancho Bernardo, San Diego, CA site.\n\nThe selected candidate will provide functional homeroom management as part of a team of GNC engineers on restricted programs. The functional homeroom manager duties typically account for 20% of the workload. \n\nEssential Functions of the GNC Section Manager (20%):\n\n * Lead team of 10-12 engineers, including college and high school interns\n\n * Provide personnel with career development, employee engagement, mentoring, and coaching\n\n * Coordinate with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance evaluations to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees, and counseling employees on their performance as necessary\n\n * Develop and improve personnel and organizational technical skills\n\n * Work with Human Resources to mediate and resolve personnel issues\n\n * Ensure process alignment through the work of direct reports, support program milestone reviews and deep dives, and assist in development and implementation of division objectives\n\n * Work closely with managers of other engineering disciplines, program managers, and IPT leads\n\n * Champion change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the division and sector\n\n * You should demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.\n\n * Demonstrate abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching.\n\n * Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills are required.\n\n\n\n\nThis position reports directly to the Vehicle Engineering and Survivability Department Manager in the Engineering Integration \u0026 Execution organization.\n\nAs a leader, you always act with integrity, and the highest ethical standards characterize everything you do. You deliver excellence, strive for continuous improvement, and respond vigorously to change.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience OR a Master\u2019s Degree with 7 years of related experience\n\n * Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the program to meet business needs\n\n * Ability to obtain Special Program Access. This Special Program Access must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the program to meet business needs\n\n * Previous Leadership Experience\n\n * Knowledge of Control System design and analysis or Navigation\n\n * Experience with Matlab and/or Simulink\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Top Secret Clearance and PAR (Special Program Access)\n\n * Existing 80% technical role.\n\n * Experience with AGILE/JIRA/Confluence\n\n * Knowledge of CAM/Earned Value\n\n * Experience with C/C++ and Python\n\n * Knowledge of Auto Coding, linear and non-linear analysis, aerodynamics, stability and control, and test data analysis\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
