Job Description - Manager Life Underwriting Remote

Symetra\u0027s Individual Life Division is seeking a collaborative and results\u2011driven Manager, Life Underwriting to lead a team supporting our National Marketing Organization (NMO) partners. This role is ideal for an experienced underwriting leader who is passionate about people development, customer experience, and business growth--especially within digital and modern underwriting environments.\n\nAbout the role\n\nAs Manager of Life Underwriting, you will lead and develop a team of underwriters supporting core life insurance products, including Symetra\u0027s award\u2011winning Swift Digital application process. Check out our Symetra Benefits Overview\n\n\n\nCompensation\n\nSalary Range: $106,400 - $177,300 plus eligibility for annual bonus program \n\nWho You Are\n\n * 6+ years of Life underwriting experience. \n * Prior leadership or team\u2011lead experience guiding professionals through complex, customer\u2011focused work preferred. \n * Strong underwriting judgment, analytical skills, and attention to detail. \n * Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing people.\n * Organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.\n * Clear, confident communicator who builds trust and collaborates effectively. \n * Willingness and ability to travel periodically for business needs and leadership development activities.\n * College degree preferred, high school diploma required. \n\n\n\nTravel: \n\nRequired Training \u0026 Professional Development \nAll newly hired people leaders with direct reports are required to complete a comprehensive leadership development program within their first year. This program includes both virtual and in-person training. The in-person sessions will take place at Symetra\u0027s corporate headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.
