Job Description Summary:
The Manager, Quality, Risk & Safety is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the organization’s Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and Patient Safety programs. This integrated role ensures regulatory compliance, mitigates organizational risk, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and safety. Working closely with Senior Leadership and cross-functional teams, this position supports proactive monitoring, issue resolution, and development of high-reliability systems that promote exceptional clinical outcomes and patient safety.Job Description:
Lead the daily operations of the Quality Assurance program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
Complete the quarterly Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) project, presenting findings to Senior Leadership and the Governing Body.
Monitor quality and compliance trends, proactively identifying areas of risk and improvement.
Collaborate with leadership and clinical teams to develop and implement process improvements that enhance patient care and clinical performance.
Supervise Quality Nurses and Quality Coordinators, providing clear direction, assigning tasks, distributing reports, and holding staff accountable to performance standards.
Promote a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement across departments.
Oversee the risk reporting process, including intake, triage, investigation, and documentation of incidents, complaints, and near-misses.
Conduct root cause analyses and develop action plans in response to sentinel events or trends in risk reporting.
Maintain accurate records for all risk and quality incidents, supporting internal investigations and external audits.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of adverse events to pharmacies, manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders per contractual and legal requirements.
Reconcile reports related to adverse events, ensuring documentation integrity and resolution follow-up.
Implements a robust Patient Safety Program aligned with best practices and industry standards.
Facilitate a Just Culture environment that encourages reporting, learning, and system improvement without fear of punitive response.
Serve as a subject matter expert on patient safety, providing presentations, guidance, and education to clinical and operational teams.
Lead proactive risk assessments and other safety initiatives to mitigate harm and reduce variation in care.

Degree in Nursing (ASN or BSN required)
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare quality, risk, or safety roles
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards (e.g., TJC, CMS, ACHC), and risk mitigation practices
Experience managing adverse event investigations, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance activities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
Proven ability to develop policies, procedures, and standard workflows aligned with organizational goals
Highly self-directed with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively in a matrixed environment
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time in a home office environment
Up to 25% travel could be required in or out of state
BSN or MSN
5-10 years of experience in home infusion
Quality Certification (CPHQ, CPPS)
