Are you passionate about early childhood education and creating joyful, engaging learning spaces for young children and their caregivers? The Manager of Children’s Experience is a key leadership role within our education department, responsible for shaping meaningful, play-based experiences for families. In collaboration with a dedicated team of full-time and part-time staff, you will ensure that every child’s visit is enriching, welcoming, and fun. From coordinating daily operations and leading school group sessions to training staff and supporting vibrant programs, your creativity and leadership will help bring our mission to life. Fluency in Spanish and experience with Pre-K and early childhood learning are highly preferred, as you will be an important connection point for our diverse community of visitors. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time. 
• Align all programming, lessons and offerings to Early Childhood Learning educational standards 
• Support the daily operations of educational and engaging experiences, including but not limited to school tours, youth programs and initiatives, and special after-hours experiences.
• Schedule and manage part-time staff, including approving and managing employee timecards, to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation.
• Regularly observe and provide feedback on instructional practices to ensure high-quality programming and continuous staff development.
• Assist with the organization and maintenance of inventory related to the Children’s experience, ensuring materials and resources are adequately equipped and used efficiently.
• Support and inspire part-time team members to develop innovative and developmentally appropriate activities and programs for all age groups (0-8years). 
• Collaborate and propose monthly programs for children and their families, seeking approval from the VP of Education on finalized scheduling.
• Assist in arranging program logistics, including coordinating speakers, performers, facilities, security, refreshments, etc.
• Identify areas for improvement within the Children’s Experience and work with the VP of Education to implement changes that enhance the overall program quality.
• Collaborate with Atlanta History Center (AHC) staff and key departments to understand and align with institutional objectives and strategies related to AHC's mission and other activities.
• Utilize research-based evidence and the mission of AHC to support teaching, learning, and program development.
• Maintain and enhance program quality through ongoing staff training, evaluation, and feedback.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs of all children’s spaces at the start, middle, and end of each day to ensure readiness, cleanliness, and safety for visitors and staff.
• Actively and positively engage with children, caretakers, and schools to establish and promote a shared respect and empathy culture.
• Ability to develop and implement engaging programs that align with the mission of the Atlanta History Center and meet the needs of young visitors and their families? 
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to understanding and valuing coaching, with an openness to receiving and applying constructive feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, Early Childhood Development, Museum Studies, or a related field. 
• Minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Previous demonstrated experience in supervising and training staff, particularly in educational or interpretive content.
• Experience in working with children of various ages, particularly infants through 8 years old.
• Previous teaching and lesson planning experience (strongly preferred)? 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to connect with children, families, and colleagues.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to respond to challenges creatively and effectively.
• Leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
• Capable of multitasking, bringing creativity to the role, and having a genuine passion for working with young children.
• Skilled in building positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Understands and appreciates the magic of early childhood learning. 
• Understanding of early childhood development and best practices.? 

Mandatory Requirement

• The position requires a flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and certain holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and interact with children and families for extended periods 

Language Requirements

• Bilingual/Spanish Speaking (strongly preferred)?
