GENERAL SUMMARYThe Manager of Client Services supports business development, scientific, operations, and financial staff to provide quality customer service as well as being responsible for supporting business development by working with these stakeholders to coordinate and prepare study proposals, prices and quotes for clients.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients.
- Manage the planning and writing colony SOWs and annual renewals.
- Assist with proposals with existing/repeat clients.
- Assist with researching new models/opportunities required to meet client requests.
- Responsible for submission of proposals/SOWs to clients.
- Takes the lead on all proposals requiring external subcontractors and internal service groups.
- Assist in ensuring all studies and programs meet projected budget parameters.
- Coordinate all aspects of client onsite visits.
- Create and maintain electronic department files for Client Services.
- Assists with updating and maintaining applicable database(s) to track number and types of studies requested and completed.
- Assist with the preparation of client service presentations.
PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING- Functions independently with guidance from senior staff.
PLANNING- Participates in strategic planning, integrating, optimizing, developing and implementing effective processes for the improvement of current and future client services.
- Assists in maximum capacity utilization by working with scientific staff and operations to identify client timelines and prioritization.
SUPERVISION EXERCISEDMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducationWork Experience- Associate’s Degree in Science, Business or Marketing (or equivalent degree). Bachelor’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in science or research industry or related experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
QUALIFICATIONS- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with various levels of personnel including collaborating with scientific staff as well as clients and vendors.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment within established policies and procedures.
- Proficient in computer-based software programs i.e. Microsoft® Office, Sage Act! And other sales software as applicable.
