The Manager of Clinical Affiliations coordinates partnerships between the College of Nursing and various healthcare entities to facilitate student clinical experiences and collaborative initiatives. This role involves overseeing administrative aspects of these affiliations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing educational opportunities. The manager acts as a key strategist in securing high-quality experiential learning placements for nursing students across diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities.
Requirements
? Oversees collaborations between the College of Nursing and healthcare organizations by developing connections with partner facilities and negotiating affiliation agreements with hospitals, clinics, and institutions for student placements
? Supports student clinical experiences by organizing placements that align with program requirements and preferences.
? Maintains a database of affiliated sites with contact details, capacity, and learning opportunities
? Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements by serving as liaison between educational institution and sites, facilitating communication about placements and updates.
? Develops strategies for quality experiential learning placements while ensuring compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.
? Manages relationships with hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities.
? Acts as an intermediary between college and healthcare partners.
? Addresses issues during clinical affiliations, maintaining records of agreements, placements, and evaluations.
? May provide training and/or orientation to students regarding the clinical program and placements.
? Manages the budget for clinical affiliations, including site fees, consortium fees, online placement site fees, and other related expenses.
? Handles other projects and tasks as needed
? Collaborates with clinical affiliate partners to create, negotiate, and implement clinical affiliation agreements on behalf of the University
? Collaborates with nursing leadership and nursing faculty to ensure high quality clinical affiliation sites appropriate for course and program learning objectives are available for student rotations
? Maintains relationships with clinical sites, ensuring they meet quality standards and are aligned with the organization's needs
? Serves as the point of contact for clinical affiliation related questions and disseminates information to appropriate parties within the University to ensure deadlines are met
? Collaborates with other Westcliff departments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
? 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing multiple affiliations, ensuring documentation compliance and student placements.
? Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance
? Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skill
? Organizational and time management skills
? Experience in affiliation agreements and organizational compliance
? Experience with clinical and student placement software
WORK EXPERIENCE:
? The primary responsibilities are carried out in a flexible environment that combines remote work and on-campus presence.
? Occasional physical activity including standing, walking, lifting (up to 70 lbs), bending, and document setup.
? Occasional exposure to noisy environments and varied weather conditions.
? Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support scheduled orientation and university functions in support of campus needs.
