Job Description - Manager of Installations





Description

The Manager of Installations oversees installation operations and field repair technical division across the company's service areas, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency. This role includes managing subcontractor relationships (roofing, siding, windows, etc.), field repair technicians, subcontractor onboarding/training, ensuring compliance, and creating performance scorecards. With a heavy travel requirement (50% minimum), the National Manager works closely with subcontractors, store teams, repair division, and regional leaders to drive excellence in execution.

REQUIRED: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Oversight:

  • Supervise Manager of Field Repair Technicians and crews
  • Manage relationships with exterior subcontractors
  • Ensure all subcontractors adhere to company standards and quality requirements
  • Act as escalation point for subcontractor and repair issues
  • Coordinate between repair division and subcontractor teams

Subcontractor Management & Training:

  • Develop comprehensive onboarding programs for new subcontractors
  • Create and deliver hands-on training for proper installation techniques
  • Implement certification requirements for all trade types
  • Conduct field training on proper installation methods
  • Stay updated on manufacturer specifications and requirements
  • Lead on-site demonstrations of proper installation techniques

Compliance & Legal:

  • Monitor subcontractor insurance and licensing requirements
  • Manage with compliance, subcontractor agreements and contract renewals
  • Ensure proper documentation of subcontractor certifications
  • Oversee manufacturer warranty compliance
  • Work with legal for subcontractor contract compliance
  • Maintain subcontractor safety protocols and requirements
  • Track and verify worker's compensation coverage

Subcontractor Scorecard System:

  • Design and maintain performance tracking for: 
  • Installation quality metrics
  • Project completion times
  • Warranty claim rates
  • Safety compliance
  • Customer satisfaction scores
  • Manufacturer certification status
  • Material waste metrics
  • Analyze data for subcontractor evaluation
  • Regular performance reviews with subcontractor teams

Travel & Field Support:

  • Extensive travel (50% minimum) for subcontractor training, compliance and audits
  • Conduct job site inspections and quality reviews
  • Facilitate regional training workshops
  • Perform emergency response assessments
  • Lead manufacturer certification training

Strategic Operations:

  • Develop strategies for subcontractor efficiency
  • Optimize subcontractor territory coverage
  • Provide detailed reports to VP of Operations
  • Manage subcontractor recruitment and retention
  • Drive quality improvements across all trades
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Experience: 
  • 7+ years in exterior construction management
  • 3+ years managing subcontractor relationships
  • Proven experience in trades training and development
  • Strong background in roofing, siding, and window installations
  • Experience managing repair operations 
  • Strong subcontractor relationship management
  • Deep technical knowledge of exterior installations
  • Proficiency in CRM/ERP systems
  • Contract negotiation and management
  • Manufacturer certification processes
  • Training and development  
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

  • Training & Development: 
  • Subcontractor training completion: 100%
  • Manufacturer certification rates: 95%+
  • Safety incident rate: Zero
  • New subcontractor onboarding completion: 100%

REQUIRED: WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours: 40 hours weekly and additional as required
  • Location:Based remote and/or out of Elite office  
  • Travel: Extensive travel to Elite markets at least 50% of timeAssure locations are fully staffed with crews.
