Job Description - Manager of Lockbox Unit

Job Description

1. Assist in monitoring the Lockbox Unit activities which include rent collection, financial and operational activities.
2. Coordinate the rent billing process, ensure accurate and timely billing and managing collection of residential rent payments.
3. Collaborate with lockbox vendor, NYCHA IT department and other stakeholders on day-to-day operation of rent collection activities.
4. Provide guidance on updating tenants’ accounts to ensure the correct balances are reflected in the AS400 Rent Collection System.
5. Respond to request from property managers, government entities, constituency leaders and management on tenants’ accounts regarding financial transactions.
6. Review daily reports for discrepancies and provide advice for corrective actions.
7. Review accounting of monthly residential rent activities and advice of necessary adjustments.
8. Assist the Law department in the affidavit process for delinquent accounts in legal proceedings.
9. Review RAD/PACT NPO’s for tenant security deposit, true-up and refund of rent collected after RAD/PACT conversion.
10. Manage data collection to provide ad hoc reports and monthly reports of rent collection activities.
11. Engage in the implementation of the new Resident Case Management System.

ADMINISTRATIVE ACCOUNTANT - 10001

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting and auditing, and four years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience, at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity or supervising a staff performing accounting or auditing work; or

2. A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license and at least 18 months of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising a staff performing accounting or auditing work.
