The Manager of Marketing & Event Coordination plays a key role in executing this vision by expanding SLICFiber®’s awareness across both residential and commercial markets through a systematic approach to event management, sponsorship activations, community engagement, and marketing programs. 

This position reports directly to the Chief Growth Officer and interfaces regularly with the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer to align marketing efforts with sales and operational goals. The role requires weekly reporting of activities and one-on-one meetings to ensure ongoing strategy refinement and execution.

  

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute a structured, data-driven event strategy to enhance community engagement and increase residential and commercial customer acquisition. 
  • Activate sponsorships by ensuring SLICFiber® maximizes brand exposure and customer conversion opportunities at partner events. 
  • Create event playbooks, checklists, and reporting structures to optimize event performance and ROI. 
  • Manage and lead event teams to effectively promote SLICFiber® at community and business events. 
  • Organize, staff, and oversee large-scale activations, grand openings, and community outreach efforts to accelerate SLICFiber®’s market growth. 
  • Maintain and manage event materials, branded giveaways, and promotional inventory—including refrigerator magnets, thank-you chocolates, and SLIC branded apparel for technicians and street teams. 
  • Execute sales and marketing campaigns for both residential and commercial segments in lit regions. 
  • Provide sales teams with marketing materials and lead generation support that drive new customer acquisition. 
  • Implement data-driven marketing tactics to ensure efficient use of resources and maximize penetration within service areas. 
  • Represent SLICFiber® at Chamber of Commerce meetings, Rotary Clubs, and other networking organizations to build relationships and increase brand visibility. 
  • Attend local business networking events to engage with potential customers and identify strategic partnership opportunities. 
  • Build strong relationships with local business owners, community leaders, and decision-makers to expand SLICFiber®’s presence and accelerate adoption. 
  • Coordinate deployment of yard signs, door hangers, and other tactics to announce SLICFiber®’s expansion into new service areas.
  • Work closely with Digital Marketing Agencies and Public Relation agency to align messaging on SLIC Event Sponsorships and enhance media exposure for events and sponsorships. 
  • Recruit, train, and manage event teams to represent SLICFiber® at events and sponsorship activations. 
  • Ensure teams are equipped with branded materials, messaging, and engagement tactics to maximize outreach effectiveness. 
  • Track performance of event teams and optimize strategies to increase engagement and lead generation. 
  • Provide weekly synopsis of activities to the Chief Growth Officer and interface regularly with the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer and align marketing, sales, and operational goals. 
  • Participate in weekly one-on-one meetings to review performance, discuss strategy, and plan for upcoming initiatives. 
  • Track event ROI, lead generation, and marketing effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement. 
  • Work with the Chief Growth Officer and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer on strategic marketing initiatives and operational improvements. 
  • Perform additional duties as needed to enhance marketing effectiveness and support sales objectives. 

Requirements

  

  • Experience in event marketing, sponsorship activations, community-based marketing, and commercial & residential marketing programs. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to independently  manage budgets, resources, and event personnel. 
  • Proven ability to develop and implement systematic event management processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • A self-starter who can build community relationships and execute creative marketing strategies that increase penetration in service areas. 
  • Confident, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills and a passion for business networking and community engagement. Possess a growth mindset. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Upstate New York and Massachusetts work flexible hours, including evenings and  weekends, as needed for events. 
  • Experience in telecommunications or technology industries is a plus but not required. 
  • Must be able to perform physical activities, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting to 30 pounds. 
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for events in the community.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Salary Description

$45,000.00 to $60,000.00
