Job Description - Manager, Operations

Description

Job Summary

  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. 
  • Support the efforts of management in meeting profit and growth objectives as established in the strategic business plan. 
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and the organizations. 
  • Work safely, within the company guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).  
  • The Operations Manager reports to the VP Operations and is responsible for the efficient management of the warehouse and packaging operations.

Responsibilities

  • For this position include but are not limited to: ensuring safety of all warehouse employees, meeting customer quality and service expectations, achieve facility throughput goals, embrace a continuous improvement culture, and manage cost to deliver on desired EBITDA targets.  
  • Establish a culture of Zero Harm to all employee through: compliance to safety rules and regulations, appropriate safety training, employee engagement, hazard identification and resolution, communication, etc. 
  • Generate and deliver a customer satisfaction system that exceeds customer&s quality and service expectations. 
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement that generates gains in yield and machine uptime. 
  • Establish and run a reliability program that focuses on proactive and predictive maintenance practices to generate world-class machine uptime targets through: proper storeroom practices, implementation of predictive technologies (vibration/thermal/lubrication), preventative maintenance creation and completion, etc. Assist in developing and monitoring the forecast and scheduling. 
  • Utilize an operational system to track productivity levels and make necessary adjustments (when necessary) to deliver on monthly and quarterly throughput goals. Manage procurement of all necessary warehouse materials. 
  • Manage employee performance via established performance management system. 
  • Establish an employee retention program that focuses on engagement of all employees.  

Position Responsibilities 

  • All employees have a Responsible Care responsibility to themselves, their families, fellow workers, community, and employer. 
  • While accepting this responsibility in the performance of their duties, they shall be expected to observe EHS;S or RC rules. 
  • A Safe Workplace is reached only when employees remain keenly alert to their Responsible Care responsibilities. 
  • They shall fulfill the following responsibilities: Give full support to the Quantix EHS;S process (or RCP). 
  • Ensure the execution of Quantix EHS;S processes (or RCP). Support and follow implementation plan for all EHS;S (or RCP) processes. 
  • Ensure employees receive required EHS;S Training and maintain documentation Follow and ensure implementation of all applicable EHS regulations. 
  • Assist as needed Auditing and monitoring implementation and execution of this process throughout Quantix Jointly with other members of management, support our Responsible Care Mission Statement. 
  • Ensure that Responsible Care concerns are given primary consideration in all activities completed at Quantix 
  • Set an excellent example for other personnel by using and supporting all safe work practices. Procure and support the required time and resources for management of the EHS;S (or RCP) Program. 
  • Ensure the timely reporting of Incidents as required by internal policy and applicable laws and regulations. With the Senior Executive Team and QA/RC team, establish Responsible Care-related goals and objectives and ensure they are met. 
  • Audit the performance of direct reports for completion of Responsible Care related goals and objectives. 
  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are developed and met. Ensure all employees are fully committed to, and actively participate in, the EHS;S (or RCP) Program. 
  • Report the status of EHS;S (or RCP) activities, goals, and objectives to corporate management. 
  • Ensure all Quantix personnel know and understand their Responsible Care responsibilities, as outlined in this procedure. 
  • Empower all employees of Quantix to fulfill their basic responsibilities and to make necessary safe operational decisions. 
  • Ensure Quantix and the personnel within Quantix comply with all applicable EHS;S (or RCP) elements, laws, regulations, and standards. Meetings Fully support Quarterly Safety Meetings in Transport and Monthly Safe
