Job Description - Manager, Operations Compliance

What You Will Achieve

As a member of the Operations Support team, you will work with others to be accountable for activities involved in the production of all products in the Andover Manufacturing Operations. In your work, you will lead the Technical Compliance team that supports activities such as external and internal audits, change controls, planned temporary changes, compliance walkthroughs, CAL OOTs, safety day-to-day, risk assessments, process closure assessments, compendial assessments, training support for manufacturing as well as the Andover training center, and impact assessments for CC, ENV QARs. 

As the manager, you will be the Compliance Lead for Operations, ensuring operations are inspection / audit ready at all times.  You will be responsible for ensuring all of your team’s deliverables are met in time for campaign start-ups.  You will be part of the Operations Support management team and will participate in prioritization and strategy discussions.  

It is your problem-solving ability and leadership that will make it possible for customers and patients to receive the medicines they need, when they need them.  As a manager you will be responsible for budget and staffing levels of your team, performance evaluations, salary recommendations and career development of all individuals within your team.


How You Will Achieve It

  • Work with the leadership team across Mammalian and non-Mammalian operations to meet all deliverables for which your team is responsible
  • Manage budget and staffing levels, performance evaluation, salary recommendations and career development of all individuals 
  • Develop and coach the talent within the function and to positively impact talent develop across the manufacturing site and the business unit network.
  • Direct the efforts of assigned staff in compliance with all regulatory requirements, cGMPs and company policies, procedures and goals.
  • Partner with Quality Auditing and Compliance to ensure compliance with all cGMPs, alignment across site, audit preparedness including understanding potential risk area and creation of mitigation strategies
  • Audit point of contact for Operations. Will create / maintain system for team members to participate in audits including backroom strategy support and front room support.
  • Will lead audit responses for Operations, setting the strategy for responses, and deliver complete responses on time
  • Partner with Organizational Learning to ensure the Operations training program needs are met, including the support / teaching of classes for the Andover Training Center

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR as associate's degree with 8 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience 

  • Strong understanding of industry knowledge and business operations (financial basics, enterprise system use i.e. payroll, inventory management systems, etc.).

  • Administrative skills, managerial skills, technical report writing, computer, and presentation skills required.

  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Previous demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and working successfully within cross-functional teams

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment across business functions.

  • Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements.

Nice-to-Have

  • Operations experience in either non-Mammalian or Mammalian

  • Previous people leading experience

  
 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work will include walking throughout the manufacturing suite including up and down stairs.

  • Ability to don cleanroom gowning

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

While this is a first shift, Monday to Friday position, this role supports a team that is responsible for ensuring all operations suites are able to run in a compliant manner. This may require off-hours support, including but not limited to late nights and weekend work.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $116,000.00 to $193,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
