Job Description - Manager, Portfolio Monitoring

This role will manage a team of portfolio analysts that perform routine portfolio monitoring tasks, including covenant compliance, and borrowing base verification calculations among other assignments. This person will facilitate decisioning and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions and processes for the Bank. Maintains and promotes a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations.

Minimizes BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.

Regularly connects work to BMO's purpose, sets inspirational goals, defines clear expected outcomes, and ensures clear accountability for follow through

Identifies issues, gaps and process improvements through open communication and through the monitoring of productivity against benchmarks

Attracts, retains, and enables the career development of top talent.

Improves team performance, recognizes and rewards performance, coaches employees, supports their development, and manages poor performance.

Applies deep expertise in Bank lending and operational processes and systems and effectively trouble shooting to ensure the best possible outcome for stakeholders

Serves as a daily escalation resource to ensure stakeholder expectations are met or exceeded.

Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.

Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.

Manage team work flow by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives.

Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.

Ensures alignment between values and behavior that fosters diversity and inclusion.

Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Data driven decision making - In-depth.

Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.

Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.

Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.

Salary:

$87,000.00 - $161,400.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
