Our client is seeking a Manager, Revenue Cycle Analytics & Power BI Reporting to lead the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Power BI dashboards supporting revenue recognition and the revenue cycle management (RCM) process. This is a new, full-time position reporting to SVP Finance, for candidates based near Nashville, TN. The successful candidate will partner closely with Finance, Revenue Cycle, and operational leadership to translate claims, billing, and payor data into reliable, decision-ready reporting that supports accurate revenue recognition, accounts receivable management, and day-to-day business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
BI Development & Data Infrastructure
Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports covering revenue recognition, accounts receivable aging, payor mix, denial trends, and other business metrics/KPIs.
Develop and maintain the underlying data models and SQL queries that feed Power BI reporting, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and scalability as reporting needs grow.
Establish and document data governance standards, naming conventions, and QA processes for BI deliverables.
Identify and lead opportunities to automate manual, Excel-based reporting processes.
Revenue Cycle Analysis & Insight
Analyze claims, billing, and payor remittance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement in revenue recognition, cash collections, denial rates, and AR aging.
Analyze claims-level data (denials, underpayments, timely filing issues, payor behavior shifts) to identify trends that erode revenue or delay cash collections.
Investigate variances between forecasted and actual revenue/cash performance and present findings with actionable recommendations to Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership.
Partner with Revenue Cycle operations to identify process bottlenecks (e.g., clean claim rate, days-to-bill, denial root causes) using data and recommend workflow or system improvements.
Support cash forecasting and bad debt/reserve estimation analysis in partnership with Finance leadership.
Translate complex claims, billing, and payor remittance data into clear, decision-ready visualizations and narrative insights for finance and operational stakeholders.
Stakeholder Partnership & Strategic Support
Partner with Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and dashboard priorities.
Serve as the subject matter expert on Power BI, data visualization, and revenue cycle analytics best practices within the finance organization.
Present analysis and dashboard insights in operational and finance leadership review meetings, driving discussion and action on key metrics.
Support ad hoc analytical requests related to revenue recognition, cash collections, denials, and other business metrics.
Collaborate with source system owners (billing/EHR, clearinghouse) to improve upstream data capture and quality where gaps are identified.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information systems, data analytics, or a related field
5+ years of experience building Power BI dashboards and data models in a corporate or healthcare finance setting
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational data modeling
Hands-on experience with healthcare revenue cycle management systems (e.g., billing/EHR platforms, claims clearinghouses, payor remittance data)
Working knowledge of revenue recognition concepts and healthcare payor mix (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, private pay)
Demonstrated experience translating data analysis into actionable business recommendations, not just visual reporting
Experience analyzing revenue cycle performance drivers (denials, AR aging, days-to-bill, clean claim rate) and identifying root causes
Experience identifying underpayments, timely filing issues, and shifts in payor reimbursement or adjudication behavior using claims and remittance data (e.g., 835/837 files, EOBs)
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large, imperfect datasets
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders — and present findings to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare services environment
Experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Power Automate, or other Microsoft Power Platform tools
