As the Manager, Security Operations at HarbourVest Partners, this job role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of security operations, including but not limited to, incident response, monitoring, threat detection, risk management, and governance. This role is essential in maintaining the security posture of our organization and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will manage a team of dedicated security analysts and collaborate with other teams to design and implement security strategies. Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with the organization's goals, industry regulations, and standard processes. Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment. Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively. Maintain an incident response plan and lead efforts to investigate, contain, and remediate security incidents. Develop and deliver security awareness training and education programs to ensure employees are informed and vigilant regarding security standard methodologies. Evaluate and handle security risks associated with third-party vendors and suppliers. Ensure alignment with industry regulations, conduct regular compliance assessments, review vendor due diligence, and coordinate audit activities with external partners. Evaluate and implement new platforms to align with the firm’s security posture. Manage the security budget, ensuring efficient security measures are in place. What you bring:
Demonstrable experience in the financial services industry, with a deep understanding of specific security challenges and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with common Security tools: Anomaly detection (Darktrace), SIEM (Rapid7), NGAV (Crowdstrike), CASB (Netskope), CSPM (Wiz), App Whitelisting (Carbon Black), and Privileged Access Management (Delinea) solutions (5 years+) Solid grasp of security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, and OWASP. Experience planning, organizing, and advising security measures to protect assets, personnel, and property of the firm Ability to operate at the tactical and strategic level, engaging with partners across the firm to ensure successful results Familiarity with security standards, compliance frameworks, and regulations (e.g., NIST, CIS, GDPR, SEC) Education Preferred
BS in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent work experience Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other relevant security certifications preferred. Experience
10+ years of experience in IT with 5+ focused on Security and 3+ years in management #LI-Hybrid
