Job Description - Manager - Supported Living Services - Prader-Willi Syndrome

At Lifehouse we focus on helping each person we support have the opportunity to lead a full life in their community.  Our Managers and Assistant Managers help to build the systems and processes needed to guide our Direct Support Professionals as they assist with day to day tasks, joining clubs, going out to eat, hiking, enjoying movies, going on vacations and more. We are currently searching for a Manager to lead our department that supports clients with Prader-Willi Syndrome. This is a challenging and extremely rewarding opportunity for a Manager well-versed in I/DD and in leading strong, client first teams.

What you will be doing

Supporting Employees:

  • Organize and supervise the direct provision of services to individuals served by Lifehouse.
  • Hire qualified staff, schedule staff hours and arrange for substitute staffing as needed. 
  • Assist clients with appointments and cover shifts when there is no staff available.
  • Provide staff training and notify supervisors of issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate a monthly staff meeting at main office.
  • Approve timesheets, purchase orders and mileage sheets.

 

Supporting Clients:

  • Work with clients on developing Individual Support Plans and ensure they are implemented and followed by staff.
  • Ensure dietary management by maintaining food security and implementing individualized menu plans as established by a dietician.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain household routines to ensure the consistency and structure necessary for the well-being and emotional and behavioral stability of the individual.
  • Implement and follow risk management and emergency plans that identify all health risks and potential complications associated with PWS.
  • Maintain client Medical-Dental Records.
  • Ensure that client needs are met Medical, financial, shopping, transport and meal planning.
  • Complete billing at the end of each month.
  • Maintain cell phone coverage and handle emergencies.

What you will bring

  • Experienced – at least 3+ years of experience with people with I/DD preferred, ideally in a residential setting.
  • 2+ years of experience managing others preferred, including strong management skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse organization while maintaining a positive work environment and leading change through teamwork.
  • Uses creative problem solving and decision-making skills to guide appropriate solutions.
  • Good general office skills – familiar with technology (computers/smartphones) and aptitude to learn new programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Able to lift more than 50 pounds.

Pay: Up To $85,000.00 per year
Work Location: Novato, CA

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License plus 2 years driving experience (Required)
  • Vehicle with valid registration and valid insurance (Required)
