Job Description - Manager, TSG Product Management (Workday)

WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will bring together technology and a deep thought-partnership with HR to deliver optimal return on the Core HR software investment. This role collaborates closely with the HR systems team, talent stakeholders, and other IT teams across Bain to implement new projects and features to ensure technology is designed to deliver scalable solutions aligned to firm and function strategy. Responsibilities for this role include collaborating with business stakeholders to define product roadmaps, develop business requirements, generating agile project plans, managing project related communications, and maintaining/continuously improving the system on a go forward basis.
Product Planning & Stakeholder Engagement (50%)
You will develop & manage the product roadmap and backlog
You will define the product features & prioritize their development, balancing technical and business requirements and trade-offs
You will develop deep empathy for the users of the product, conduct product research, and translate user needs into product requirements
You will serve as a lead member of system project teams, offering expertise and guidance on system design and configuration
You will translate needs and practices into comprehensive system design
You will document system specifications and workflow processes
You will develop testing plans and facilitate system testing
You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure processes facilitate new or updated technology
Configuration (30%)
You will lead internal and external configuration teams
You will test prototypes/proof-of-concepts and launched products/features with users, gathering and synthesizing feedback to steer the roadmap
You will identify and address technical risks and dependencies
You will provide direction to the development team on technical trade-offs
You will execute technical configuration of new process and plans
You will collaborate with IT on necessary integrations
You will design reports using logic and condition rules to achieve desired output
You will drive creative technology solutions, using agile approach and methodology
You will develop documentation and/or training materials and conduct comprehensive training sessions
Service and Support (20%)
You will lead change management strategy and communications to drive user adoption
You will conduct interviews, surveys, focus groups and/or workshops with stakeholders and end-users as needed
You will stay tuned into global business needs and recommend process and technology solutions that align with objectives
You will manage system upgrades, including developing and executing test plans, identifying system dependencies, and highlighting risks
You will perform system ‘health checks’, including data audits and system performance testing
You will maintain documentation of applications, policies, procedures and reporting
You will work collaboratively with members of the Workday and broader Bain teams
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree

or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required and 5 to 8

years of progressive experience. Experience in SaaS system configuration and 3+ years experience specifically with Workday (core HCM modules) as a product owner and hands-on configuration is also needed. Also, Agile product owner is certification preferred.
• In-depth understanding of Workday and Agile methodologies and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams ranging in seniority and create a consensus between stakeholders
• Strong communication skills, can explain complex requirements to engineering team or propose strategic direction to leadership team
• Ability to understand complex business needs, competitive offerings, and industry trends and translate them to customer-facing solutions
• Ability to use analysis to prioritize business value
• Demonstrates a leadership mindset and has a positive influence on culture and morale across broader function
• Vendor management skills including holding them accountable for deliverables and pushing through roadblocks
• Willingness to travel as needed.
