Job Description - Manager, US Benefits

Overview \n\nThe Manager, US Benefits oversees the administration and delivery of Alnylam\u2019s U.S. benefits and leave programs, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a high-quality employee experience. This role partners closely with vendors, HR colleagues, and our broker to deliver reliable, employee\u2011focused service in a fast\u2011paced environment. This position will report to the Director, US Benefits. \n\nThis is a hybrid position and will primarily be based in Cambridge, MA.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Manage U.S. leave programs (FMLA, parental, disability) and partner with the Leave/ADA vendor to ensure accurate, compliant, employee\u2011focused case handling.\n * Coordinate closely with People Relations, HRBPs, Payroll, Legal, and vendors to support timely case updates and communication.\n * Oversee the day\u2011to\u2011day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, COBRA, and retirement plans while maintaining service quality.\n * Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, Section 125, and federal/state requirements, supporting audits, 5500 filings, and nondiscrimination testing.\n * Build strong vendor and broker partnerships and act as an escalation point for complex employee inquiries.\n * Partner with HRIS to ensure accurate benefits data, testing, system maintenance, and reporting in SAP SuccessFactors.\n * Lead annual Open Enrollment planning, communications, testing, data validation, and reconciliation.\n * Develop clear, employee\u2011friendly benefits communications, support wellness initiatives, and provide direct guidance to employees and managers.\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent HR experience).\n * 5+ years of U.S. benefits administration experience, including LOA programs exposure.\n * Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and federal/state regulations.\n * Experience partnering with third\u2011party vendors and brokers.\n * Experience with SAP SuccessFactors (benefits configuration, data review, workflow coordination).\n * Strong communication, relationship\u2011building, and problem\u2011solving skills.\n\n\n\n#LI-MH1 #LI-Hybrid\n\nU.S. Pay Range\n\n$114,800.00 - $155,300.00\n\nThe pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
