We invite qualified candidates to express interest in the Managing Director role, to lead the organization towards our goal of preserving Cayman heritage while supporting the development of our culture.
Job duties & responsibilities:
Work closely with the CNCF Management Board to set the strategic direction, and will be responsible for all aspects of leadership, operations, marketing, HR, and financial management of the organisation. They will also act as the key Government representative for the organisation.
Develop and communicate a compelling case for support, clearly articulating CNCF's mission, community impact, and long-term vision, including the Cultural Campus project.
Apply strategic and innovative approaches to both fundraising and earned-income generation, creating sustainable revenue models that extend beyond traditional donor solicitation, while overcoming common donor misconceptions and funding barriers.
Lead the financial management of CNCF, ensuring careful management of budgets, cashflow, income statements, balance sheets, statements, and expenses, using contracted accountants and confirming adherence to accepted policies.
Create conditions for success within the organisation, ensuring operations, policies, technology and facilities are safe, adequate, fit for purpose and legally compliant.
Set the strategic direction of the artistic and programmatic offerings at CNCF and oversee department heads as they work to implement the agreed plan, with the support of guest artistic directors or subject matter experts.
Develop and maintain strong relationships in creative, political, business sectors and in the wider community, creating alliances and strategic partnership and ensuring regular communications with stakeholders and the public.
Minimise risk by ensuring that CNCF is compliant with all laws and legislation and is meeting the highest standards possible and follow nonprofit best practice.
Required skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Arts disciplines, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field. Post-graduate degree preferred
5+ years of senior leadership experience within a nonprofit, charitable or cultural organization is essential
Must have a proven track record of developing and delivering successful, organisation-wide fundraising and revenue-generation strategies in complex funding environments. This includes experience securing grants, sponsorships, partnerships, philanthropic support, and other income streams
Strong understanding of governance frameworks, statutory compliance, and best employment practices
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to represent the organisation publicly and influence stakeholders
Prior experience overseeing organisational finances, including budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, cashflow management and financial reporting
Working knowledge of Public Authorities Act, Labour Act, Freedom of Information Legislation and Data Protection Law, and other government legislation/policies would be an advantageous
Management of employment practices, team wellbeing, and organisational culture building
Strategic planning/organisational skills with ability to work alongside Boards to deliver on organizational vision, to shape organisational culture, and align teams to lead through change
Compensation package for this role includes an annual salary commensurate with experience, in line with CIG Grade F. In addition, employer health & pension contributions and vacation entitlement per year. This post is offered on a full-time contract working the equivalent of 40 hours per week with some reasonable overtime expected.
