Managing Director, WPP Media Growth Activation

ROLE MANDATE

Drive ES growth activation through WPP Media relationships, especially where media, data, customer intelligence, measurement, personalization, AI or platform transformation are present.

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

Media relationships often expose performance, measurement, data, technology and operating-model issues that can become significant ES opportunities. This role turns those signals into qualified growth pathways.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with WPP Media leadership and client teams to identify ES-relevant opportunities.


• Shape opportunities around measurement, customer intelligence, personalization, CRM, data, AI, platform and marketing operating model transformation.


• Help media teams identify when a client need should be escalated into ES rather than solved only within the media scope.


• Develop client POVs and opportunity briefs that connect media signals to broader business and technology needs.


• Route qualified opportunities into the right ES activation support and keep momentum through early-stage pursuit.


• Coordinate with Growth Architecture when the opportunity requires technical validation, enterprise architecture or complex commercial shaping.


• Capture media-to-ES patterns that can be reused across priority accounts.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Managing Director-level leader with experience in media, data, analytics, CRM, martech, AI or customer transformation.


• Strong credibility with media leadership and senior client teams.


• Able to bridge performance marketing, customer data, platform and business transformation conversations.


• Commercially instinctive and able to identify scalable ES opportunities from operational or measurement pain points.


• Strong synthesis and client-facing narrative skills.


• AI-enabled, fast-moving and comfortable with ambiguity.

• Head of WPP Network Growth and wider Growth leadership.


• WPP Creative, WPP Media, WPP Open and agency client teams.


• GCLs and priority account teams where ES opportunities are present.


• Growth Architecture & Enterprise Sales for complex or ambiguous opportunities.


• ES Pillar Leads, Consulting / Advisory, Alliances, Pursuit Excellence and Growth Operations.

SUCCESS MEASURES

• Qualified ES pipeline sourced through WPP Media relationships.


• Number of media-to-ES opportunities shaped and routed.


• Conversion from media signal to qualified ES pursuit.


• Repeatable measurement, data, AI and platform plays created for priority accounts.


• WPP Media stakeholder confidence and repeat engagement with ES.

FIRST 90-DAY FOCUS

• Identify priority WPP Media relationships and current client pain points that may indicate ES opportunity.


• Build initial media-to-ES opportunity map.


• Create two to three clear plays around measurement, data, CRM, AI or platform transformation.


• Qualify live opportunities and route activation requests into ES.
