Position Overview
MCCCD – Glendale Community College is seeking a Maintenance & Operations (M&O) Technician – Event & FF&E Support to provide full-time, on-site support for events, furniture fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). This role is 100% onsite and requires candidates to be local at time of submission, available for in-person interviews within 1 week of posting close, and able to start within 2 weeks of offer.
Key Responsibilities
Event Set-Up Support
- Set up and tear down event equipment (tables, chairs, staging, signage, etc.).
- Prepare event areas with signage, traffic cones, and infrastructure.
- Follow schematics and verbal/email instructions for event layouts.
- Maintain organized storage areas and perform light equipment repairs.
FF&E Support Duties
- Transport, assemble, disassemble, and repair furniture across campus.
- Ensure proper handling and protection of items during moves.
- Assist with storage room organization, surplus equipment preparation, and asset inventory.
- Support receiving dock operations during peak periods.
Safety & Compliance
- Operate equipment such as forklift, manlift, utility cart, or dump truck (preferred).
- Follow OSHA and MCCCD safety guidelines and ADA/fire compliance.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Experience with event setup, furniture handling, and equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, inventory tracking, and online work order systems (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to complete required safety and compliance training.
