Manual Machinist

Summary:

Join Mach3, a 100% employee-owned company, a large precision machine shop. We are hiring a manual machinist who can accurately and efficiently machine parts according to print by choosing the appropriate sequence of operations and executing the best setup in order to meet blueprint dimensions and tolerances.   

Essential Functions:

• Set-up and machine utilizing a Horizontal Boring Mill (Giddings and Lewis – manual machine or Fanuc Controlled CNC HBM). 
• Perform daily equipment start-up and clean-up of equipment. Provide weekly maintenance and routine preventative maintenance.  
• Regular use of manual tools: Dial Calipers, Dial indicators, and OD/ID Mics to verify dimensions. 
• Identify and number material for fabrication and material to be sent out for further machining. 
• May be asked to run other machines as needed to meet production demand. 

Competencies and Experience Needed:

• 3 – 5 years of machining experience required
• CNC Programming knowledge preferred for CNC Role – training available as well.
• G&L or similar experience desired
• Employee-owned work ethic and decision-making are required
• Fork-lift experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of and experience working with alloy steel.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints & BOM’s.
• Detail-oriented, demonstrated a high level of accuracy in working safely.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires physical capability, which includes standing most of the time, some lifting up to 25 to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as needed.    
• Flexible scheduling available.
• Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required.
