Job Description - Manual Test Engineer (Senior Associate) - Immediate Start

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Manual Test Engineer (Senior Associate) for a CONTRACT TO HIRE assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Jersey City, NJ, Dallas, TX, or Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, maintain, and execute test cases based on epics and releases; present results and supervise defects to closure
  • Prepare, maintain, and execute scripts for manual testing
  • Review test cases / manual testing approach with team members to ensure comprehensive coverage and acquire feedback
  • Track test execution breakthroughs, report on issues and risks with the potential to affect project timelines
  • Construct appropriate end-to-end business scenarios through the application of a broad understanding of business objectives and goals
  • Collaborate with delivery pipeline teams to drive adoption and resolve open issues.
  • Identify dependencies for environmental and data requirements; lead and maintain environment and data.
  • Provide mentorship to colleagues related to test coverage and test cases
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the product being delivered
  • Responsible for process compliance & associated documentation
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risk; calls out appropriately
  • The Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of related IT experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience leading large scale testing efforts or program management
  • Intermediate Excel (V-Look ups, Pivot Tables)
  • Experience with Manual testing/User Acceptance testing and Test Engineering methodologies
  • Detailed understanding of smoke testing, as well as regression testing
  • Experience in estimating, prioritizing, and planning testing activities
  • In depth knowledge of the SDLC and STLC lifecycles
  • Preferably from the Capital Market domain with proven understanding of trade lifecycles
  • Eye for business with knowledge of Financial Risk Management or strong desire to learn
  • Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination
  • Experience presenting to business users/stakeholders

Preferred Skills:
  • PMP , CSM ,CSPO ,or PMI-ACP a plus
  • Experience with test data management is a plus
