PRODUCTION TEAM MEMBER
Cross -Trained Manufacturing Associate
Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Mandatory Overtime until 4:30 PM as needed
Position Summary
We are seeking reliable, hands -on team members to join our production operations, with full cross -training across specialized areas in build preparation, rubber building and curing, and precision finishing—ideal for those who enjoy mechanical challenges, puzzles, and building things with their hands.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
• Cross -train and rotate across three specialized production areas—Build Prep (stripping rubber from cores, media blasting, cementing), Build Area (accurate weighing and mixing of rubber compounds on mills, extruding or hand -building, wrapping, autoclave curing), and Finishing (lathe setup with dial indicator verification, grinding, grooving, polishing, inspection, and packaging)—to support team flexibility and personal skill development.
• Match shop orders to parts, read and follow detailed instructions and prints, take precise measurements using diameter tapes and dial indicators, and safely operate/maintain equipment including manual engine lathes, media blast cabinets/rooms, rubber mills, extruders, autoclaves, belt sanders, grinders, bandsaws, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
• Make safety the #1 priority through proper PPE and equipment operation; deliver quality by ensuring every customer part is clean, protected, and within all tolerances; and meet or exceed delivery targets by following production schedules and expedited priorities to complete jobs on or before due dates.
• Perform essential daily housekeeping and equipment care: clean lathe ways, check/change compressor and dust filters, empty blast dust barrels and condensate pails, reclaim blast media, organize tools/cores, and maintain a clean, organized workspace to extend equipment life, prevent breakdowns, and eliminate hazards.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics teams; clearly communicate priorities, progress, and concerns; monitor production for bottlenecks or deviations and implement corrective actions; and actively support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency gains, waste reduction, and cost savings.
• Demonstrate unwavering punctuality and attendance; bring grit, reliability, and enthusiasm for hands -on mechanical work, problem -solving puzzles, and cross -training; prior military experience or hobbies involving cars, machinery, or detailed hands -on projects are strong indicators of success and highly valued.
• Complete an in -person aptitude assessment (practical math calculations—no calculators allowed—and situational judgment scenarios) during screening; we will provide advance notice so you know what to expect and can show your problem -solving approach.
Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, use knives and power tools (e.g., angle grinders), and work with precision measuring devices in an industrial manufacturing environment.
