steel, and glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), we design and fabricate fountains, planters and outdoor gas fire tables

throughout North America at many retailers from on-line big box stores to high-end specialty stores. The Jensen Casting

Schedule 

M-Th, 5:00am - 3:00pm, with occasional overtime on Fridays.

Position Summary 

As a Manufacturing Associate specializing in building GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) fireplaces, you play a crucial role in our production process. Your primary responsibility is to assist in the manufacturing of high-quality GFRC fireplaces through the spray and pour method. This involves preparing concrete mixtures according to precise formulations, operating equipment for spraying and pouring concrete into molds, and ensuring the consistency and quality of finished products. You will work closely with the production team to meet production schedules, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and adhere to safety protocols. Your attention to detail, willingness to learn, and dedication to producing superior GFRC fireplaces will contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations.


Requirements

  • Demold cured products and inspect for imperfections
  • Sand, grind, and polish surfaces to achieve desired finishes
  • Apply surface treatments, sealers, or coatings as required
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as mixers, sprayers, sanders, and grinders
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency and longevity
  • Inspect finished fire tables to ensure they meet company quality standards.
  • Address and correct any defects or inconsistencies
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in schedule management
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changes

Education and Experience 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or a related field
  • Experience working with concrete or similar materials preferred
  • Familiarity with GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) production processes, preferred
  • Understanding of basic construction principles and materials, particularly concrete and GFRC, preferred 
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to working with concrete and construction materials
  • Proficiency in operating equipment used for concrete mixing, spraying, and pouring 
  • Ability to follow precise instructions for mixing concrete batches to required specifications
  • Experience with spray gun operation and techniques for applying coatings and finishes to surfaces

Physical Demands

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery
  • Perform repetitive motions using your hands and fingers such as, but not limited to, grasping, gripping, and holding
  • Carrying  & lifting 10 – 75lbs. frequently
