Manufacturing Design Engineer
Pay Rate: $20.00-$30.00/hour, Based on experience
Location: Statesville, NC
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, overtime as needed
We are currently seeking a talented Manufacturing/Design Engineer for a temp-to-hire position in our dynamic team. Located in Statesville, NC, this role is crucial to our Metal Fabrication department, supporting various aspects of the manufacturing process, quality assurance, and customer communication. Responsibilities:
- Assist manufacturing operations on site, ensuring availability of necessary tools and equipment, troubleshooting issues, and designing specialized tooling and fixturing.
- Review work orders and identify opportunities for process improvements, reporting findings to the Operations Manager.
- Compile project data and collaborate with the Operations Manager for review.
- Work closely with the Estimator to ensure accurate quoting of new business.
- Process Engineering Change Request forms and generate Engineering Change Notices.
- Provide assistance or coverage for Quality Staff as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications or Requirements:
- Proficiency in using Inventor for 2D and 3D modeling, creating models/dxf/shop drawings independently.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with metal fabrication, including knowledge of kerf and bend allowances.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven engineering and drafting experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems and procedures.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Punctuality, reliability, and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Additional Information:
While an engineering degree is not required, candidates must possess significant experience in modeling and designing 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD. The ability to work independently and efficiently is essential for success in this role.
