Miltec UV has an immediate opportunity for a creative, hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Stevensville, Maryland.

Job Summary:
Create, develop, implement, and document processes required to assemble, test, and manufacture the products of the company. Improve the quality control standards of every product which has completed the manufacturing process; find ways to improve production; monitor and analyze the process of production and achieve increased performance.
Process Development:
- Maintain, improve, and develop manufacturing processes with a focus on production capabilities and cost.
- Providing ROI justification for process improvements and capital equipment.
- Specifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for production.
- Developing and optimizing process parameters
- Developing/revising manufacturing process documentation and work instructions
- Provide technical excellence by developing a bill of process specific to Miltec’s manufacturing process.
- Develop and integrate automated systems, robotic equipment, and AI-driven solutions to streamline production workflows, reduce manual operations, and support continuous process improvement.
Manufacturing Support:
- Monitoring process yields and cost, recommending and implementing quality improvements to drive improved metrics.
- Solving manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment, training and instructions) to support production.
- Assisting with the training of new personnel and participation in the design of operation training materials.
- Work closely with manufacturing team to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
- Maintain a strong hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor, partnering with production teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement.
Design and Engineering Support:
- Recommend design improvements required to produce electromechanical products.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes, product changes and related fixtures.
- Represent the Manufacturing department in product design review and change.control to ensure product manufacturability is incorporated into product design.
Miscellaneous:
- Support Quality and Engineering teams in resolving production issues, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous process improvements.
Minimum Requirements
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with SolidWorks desired or other CAD software.
- Experience with automation systems, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled manufacturing applications, including process optimization, machine vision, predictive maintenance, quality analytics, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Must be responsive, thoughtful, self-directed, positive, and ready for a challenge.
- Experience with Quality Systems and Good Manufacturing Practices desired.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methods, such as lean manufacturing.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering.
- 5- Years of relevant experience.
- Experience with MRP systems.

- Plan B – Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 1 hour lunch OR 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 30-minute lunch (40 hours) – Friday off
- Plan C – Tuesday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 1 hour lunch OR 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 30-minute lunch (40 hours) – Monday off
