Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with strong electro-mechanical expertise to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and drive successful transition from design to production. This role ensures manufacturing processes are robust, scalable, and aligned with engineering intent. You will interpret technical data packages (TDPs), develop production-ready processes, and act as the key technical interface between design, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
This position is best suited for experienced engineers from electro-mechanical, defense, aerospace, medical devices, or industrial manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Production Launch
Support the transition of products from R&D/design into full production
Develop, validate, and implement manufacturing processes (assembly, test, tooling, fixtures)
Provide Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) input during design reviews to improve cost, quality, and manufacturability
Technical Data Package (TDP) Ownership
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and PCBA schematics
Ensure accurate translation of design intent into production processes and documentation
Serve as the primary technical contact for internal teams and suppliers regarding TDP clarification
Process Engineering & Improvement
Define and optimize electro-mechanical assembly and test processes
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions
Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods to improve yield and efficiency
Supplier & Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with procurement, quality, design, and supplier engineering teams
Support supplier onboarding, capability reviews, and technical issue resolution
Ensure alignment between suppliers and engineering requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in electro-mechanical systems
Strong experience in NPI and production ramp-up environments
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and PCBA schematics
Experience developing and validating manufacturing processes (assembly/test/tooling)
Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and manufacturing systems (PDM, PLM, ERP, such as SAP or similar)
Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting
Exposure to manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, composites, or 3D printing
Experience working with suppliers or contract manufacturers
Preferred Qualifications
Industry experience in aerospace, defense, medical devices, or industrial electro-mechanical manufacturing
Knowledge of IPC standards and electronics manufacturing best practices
Lean Six Sigma certification or structured continuous improvement training
Hands-on experience with assembly, testing, or failure analysis of electro-mechanical systems
What We're Looking For
A mid-level manufacturing engineer with proven experience taking electro-mechanical products from development into production, owning technical data interpretation, solving manufacturing issues at the root cause level, and improving processes in a structured production environment. Strong communication skills and supplier-facing experience are essential for success in this role.
