Job Description - Manufacturing Engineer - Reliability

A thriving economy in space is needed to make life on Earth more vibrant, sustainable, and equitable. Space technology will enable global access to information, solutions to climate change, answers to global food security, products that transform healthcare, clean energy production, and more. Today, rocket launch options are slow, expensive, and unreliable. Stoke is building the world’s most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily that will radically increase access to space and open up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth.  

Description


We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team with a focus on build reliability. In this role you will be responsible for owning and developing processes within the factory, including company-wide processes that ensure the reliability of our flight hardware. Stoke is successful through agility; in this role you will be responsible for delivering a system that ensures quality while maintaining that agility.


 This is a unique opportunity to establish reliability standards within a prototype production line, in a factory that will be producing an ever-evolving product. A qualified candidate will take a first principles approach to developing the standards and processes necessary for delivering vehicles to the pad reliably and repeatably.


Responsibilities



  • Own the manufacturing of assemblies for the Nova vehicle

  • Establish factory standards for manufacturing reliability

  • Develop novel manufacturing processes that reduce the time it takes to build a rocket


Qualifications 



  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar

  • 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Intimate knowledge of aerospace and engineering standards, and a willingness to question and define requirements

  • Experience with detailed mechanical designs including machined parts, metal additive parts, weldments, fasteners, and complex assemblies

  • Experience with build reliability of aerospace hardware (AS9100 experience preferred)

  • Demonstrated understanding of configuration management and change control

  • Strong fundamentals in GD&T, tolerance stackups

  • Experience in process development and research

  • Ability to lead

  • Ability to follow

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Willing to relocate to Seattle, WA

Compensation


Target Levels:



  • Level 2: $104,500 - $141,400

  • Level 3: $123,000 - $184,400

  • Level 4: $144,100 - $240,100
