Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of mission-critical flow control products and services for Industrial, Aerospace & Defense markets, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. This position will be responsible for collaborating with various functional groups, including manufacturing, design engineering, quality, and customer service, to ensure the efficient production of intricate and complex machined parts and assemblies.
Responsibilities:
- Transfer parts from older, less efficient equipment to newer machinery to enhance capacity.
- Develop processes and design fixtures for repeatability and predictability in manufacturing high-quality parts.
- Identify new equipment/processes to reduce costs in a low-volume, high-mix environment.
- Update the MRP system with lead times, routing, and other manufacturing support information.
- Create Standard Work documentation for Machine and Assembly operations.
- Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to design efficient layouts.
- Collaborate with planning and design staff to ensure efficient production methods.
- Work with vendors to determine product specifications and evaluate products according to quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to design machine fixtures for manual and CNC equipment.
- Proficiency in creating repeatability in machining and assembly processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collect and analyze data.
- Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent report preparation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and understanding GD&T.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous related experience is preferred but not required.
