The Manufacturing Floater is responsible for supporting production and material flow throughout the facility. This position serves as a versatile team member who assists the Materials Department, learns part identification and inventory processes, and receives cross-training on CNC equipment and manufacturing operations. The Floater helps ensure materials are available to production areas, maintains organization within the facility, and provides support where needed to meet production demands.

This role is primarily focused on onsite manufacturing support and does not include driving responsibilities or packaging duties. The position is designed to develop a broad understanding of Masterbilt's products, processes, and equipment while building skills for future advancement opportunities within manufacturing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Assist the Materials Department with moving raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Learn part numbers, material types, and product flow processes.
  • Deliver materials and job packets to production departments as needed.
  • Assist with inventory organization and material staging for production.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred or ability to obtain certification).
  • Assist Material Handlers with receiving, stocking, and inventory activities.
  • Support production departments during peak workloads.
  • Receive cross-training on CNC machining operations and assist machine operators as needed.
  • Learn machine setup, tooling, quality requirements, and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Complete required production and inventory documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Willingness to learn CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.

Physical Activities & Working Conditions

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required as appropriate.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.

Work Schedule

The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to support production requirements.
