What You’ll Do

SimpliSafe is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Operations Lead to join the manufacturing organization of our award-winning wireless/IoT home security company. You will work with internal and external teams to lead activities in product and process development, continuous improvement and other strategic areas. In this role, you will be the voice of the manufacturing team, focusing on achieving manufacturing, quality, and supply chain deliverables, along with cost, quality and delivery goals. The ideal candidate has a project management foundation, experience in consumer products or electronics manufacturing, and a passion for building and improving standard work processes and tools.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the voice of the manufacturing and supply chain teams throughout the product life cycle
Work closely with external JDM/CM partners and internal development teams to successfully transition NPI products into mass production by managing build schedules, material readiness, and production plans
Lead Sustaining programs as accountable Program Manager, driving program delivery, tracking progress, and communicating costs, risks, and schedules to senior management
Create and refine processes and tools to help SimpliSafe work better, including data collection methods, documentation and change control processes, and reporting of metrics/KPIs
Drive continuous improvement both internally and at our partners
Contribute to development of team long-term vision, strategy and road map
What You’ll Bring

7+ years in the development and manufacturing of high-volume consumer electronics ● Strong process and planning skills with significant experience in project/program management
Data-driven and results-oriented approach to problem solving
Ability to communicate effectively across the organization; excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to develop and foster partner relationships and a passion for working in collaborative environments
Experience managing Asian manufacturing partners and traveling to manufacturing sites; ability to travel internationally 2-4 times per year
Nice-to-haves:
Background in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, manufacturing, or product development
Project Management certification or equivalent course work
Experience with refurbishment and repair processes
Familiarity with stage gate processes
