The Plant Director role drives the success of PepsiCo through operational guidance of our plant strategy to meet customer needs and achieve standards. The Plant Director must lead the overall plant objectives. This individual must set production performance standards and align the organization to achieve standards. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for supply chain departments for a plant across all shifts. This individual is responsible for managing multiple shifts of the plant’s employees and developing a team of the front line, supervisor, and managing employees. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing, implementing and executing a best in class service to sales standard.
Responsibilities
Applies knowledge of processes, equipment and system capability to set challenging individual and facility standards Develops Annual Operating Plan for the plant Coaches supervisors and managers to achieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization and quality Manages direct and indirect controllable costs to meet overall cost index target Manages overall plant profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for production, maintenance, and quality control Ensures compliance with all health & safety regulations Oversees overall responsibility for food safety and adherence to quality compliance mandates Tracks key performance indicators/costs, anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise the achievement of financial targets Oversees the scheduling process for receiving and delivering raw materials and finished products promptly Manages the inventory process, ensuring optimal levels of full goods are maintained to fulfill daily sales needs Oversees and assures facility equipment reliability to minimize downtime Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for both management and front-line hourly personnel Develops team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals Delivers effective change leadership by driving business changes while minimizing people impact Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues Motivates team members to achieve plan goals Champions Lean Six Sigma and TPM initiatives for the plant Administer policies and procedures Regular and predictable attendance at the worksite This role requires a regular presence on the plant floor This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally This role requires occasional work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow This role may operate forklift and manufacturing equipment occasionally This role may require off-shift and weekend work This role may require some travel (less than 5%) Compensation and Benefit Details: The expected compensation range for this position is between $122,300 - $242,700 based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually. and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period. Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project Minimum of ten years of prior work experience required; preferably most, if not all, in a high-speed manufacturing environment Minimum of five years of prior work experience in a management position required Previous experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role at a high-speed manufacturing facility highly preferred Previous experience leading large teams required; preferably of both hourly and salaried employees Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry preferred Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, changing work environment Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications Ability to give and receive constructive feedback Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring skills Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
