$26 per hour | Full-time
Monday - Thursday 6:30 am – 5:00 pm
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and cost-effective production of portable basketball court panels, subfloor components, sleepers, and other manufactured products at the Praters Inc. Manufacturing facility in Rossville, GA. This role reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing and operates under their authority and direction.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience as a Manufacturing Technician, demonstrate strong leadership abilities, and have a thorough understanding of Prater’s procedures and quality standards. This individual will also be responsible for training and guiding team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence to operational goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for supervising a team of 8 to 10 manufacturing employees daily.
Supervise and oversee all production activities and task assignments within the Praters Inc. manufacturing facility to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to established standards.
Work assignments are flexible and may be adjusted based on the project scope and the specific skills and expertise of each Manufacturing Technician.
Maintain a consistent presence on the production floor to enhance efficiency, support real-time training opportunities, and address immediate needs without requiring associates to seek out the director or manager.
Maintain regular communication and hold meetings with the Director of Manufacturing on a daily or weekly basis.
Meet with crew members as needed (daily or weekly) to clearly define the scope of work and set expectations for each job assignment.
Ensure all manufacturing team members adhere to established procedures for job execution, safety protocols, and site cleanliness as outlined in the procedural manual.
Ensure employees are accurately clocked into the appropriate job and remain focused on their assigned tasks.
Oversee and/or perform all manufacturing processes to ensure they meet Praters’ quality standards and align with the customer’s specifications.
Provide coaching and training to each manufacturing team member on the processes related to their scope of work, with regular reviews conducted as needed to reinforce understanding and performance.
Provide follow-up support to team members through additional training or disciplinary action when performance expectations are not met.
Evaluate and report employee violations (job quality, attendance, procedure, compliance) directly to the Manufacturing Director and or HR.
Enlist the help of experienced management to assist with training as needed.
Collaborate with other department managers and supervisors throughout the portable court manufacturing and subfloor system production processes to ensure all projects are accurately scheduled and progress is on track to meet deadlines.
Identify and resolve production challenges, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and recommend and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
The Manufacturing Production Supervisor will collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing and the Warehouse/Inventory Control representative to ensure materials are adequately stocked and staged to meet daily manufacturing production requirements.
Perform a weekly inventory of all manufacturing materials and equipment, and report the findings to the Director of Manufacturing or the Inventory Control representative.
Compile production reports, track cost metrics, assess operational performance, and assist in implementing efficiency improvements to minimize waste.
Ensure work areas and the breakroom are cleaned daily per Praters standards, with all tools and equipment returned to their proper places. Assign and delegate cleaning responsibilities and assignments to team members accordingly.
Willing to travel occasionally as needed.
Participate in the company or external educational opportunities offered to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of members within the department.
Weekend work and overtime may be required.
Will always conduct himself or herself as a representative of Praters, Inc. and support Praters, Inc.'s missions and goals.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS NEEDED:
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Technician or Crew Leader - Preferred
Strong people management, leadership, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate effectively and clearly with employees, management, vendors, and visitors.
Must be able to handle multiple projects and demands
Organized and detail-oriented
Able to effectively and efficiently organize and work well on a team, but also have the independence to work individually
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Suite, and any additional software used
Must have a valid driver’s license, clean MVR
Must have a DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain a medical card
Must be 21 years old or older
