Job Description - Manufacturing Systems Architect

ABOUT THE TEAM


The Business Systems team is responsible for building and optimizing the many systems and internal technologies that enables Anduril to accomplish its mission. Anduril's supply chain, accounting, sales & growth, field maintenance, manufacturing, and many more teams rely on the technology built and maintained by us. We call this system-of-systems "ArsenalOS". Within ArsenalOS lies a suite of digital software solutions aimed at solving the problems for our manufacturing, supply chain, and planning departments, which we call ProductionOS (ProdOS for short).

We are seeking a Manufacturing Systems Architect to join our ProdOS team. They will be responsible for architecting a highly performant production system environment that can run 24/7 with thousands of parts, people, and tools moving every day. They will need to diagnosis the current state of integrations between the MES, ERP, PLM, and other relevant systems, communicate in what ways they won’t support our to-be state, and architect a design that will accomplish the to-be state. Their expertise will enable our ProdOS development teams to evolve their capabilities to support a broad array of manufacturing requirements, from supporting fabrication work orders to advanced dynamic production scheduling.


WHAT YOU"LL DO:



  • Configure and optimize integrations between systems to properly support the advanced manufacturing capabilities (complex work orders, dynamic routings, lineside inventory management, and AI-driven production scheduling) needed by our production organization by working with the stakeholder systems team (ERP, PLM, MES, etc.)

  • Work with teams owning core development of enterprise systems (MES, ERP, PLM) to design and configure solutions to support advanced manufacturing processes and high-rate production, ensuring 2nd and 3rd order effects impacting other departments are adequately solved (supply chain, accounting, finance, labor, design engineering, etc.)

  • Design and implement data structures, workflows, and business logic that accommodate manufacturing requirements

  • Create effective integration points between ERP, MES, PLM and other systems to ensure proper data flow for bill of materials, routings, work instructions, and quality parameters

  • Lead technical discussions and roadmaps for implementation of the proposed architecture

  • Identify potential system bottlenecks and provide solutions to maintain high performance, work with system development teams to solve

  • Establish technical standards and best practices for manufacturing systems integration


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 7+ years of experience configuring and implementing MES, ERP, and PLM systems and their integrations in complex manufacturing environments

  • Strong understanding of systems integration principles and technologies

  • Experience with industrial manufacturing processes, particularly in heavy metal fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in extending ERP functionality to support specialized manufacturing requirements and finding a way to balance financial responsibilities against enabling manufacturing to move fast

  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing data structures within ERP and MES systems, particularly related to bills of material, routings, and work orders

  • Familiarity with API development and middleware solutions for system integration, ability to go deep with developers to validate code = design

  • Proven ability to translate complex manufacturing requirements into effective system configurations

  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data

  • Ability to be in-office full time and willingness to travel up to 25-50% to visit manufacturing sites

US Salary Range

$166,000 - $250,000 USD

 


The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
