Job Description - Manufacturing Technician 2 - Night Shift
Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing assembly and installation of different manufacturing components and/or parts and provide mechanical and electrical services, following established procedures and guidelines. Can work independently and as a member of a team to provide technical services that satisfy internal and external customer requirements to achieve manufacturing goals.
Entry-level position – Generally has two or more years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. The MFG Technician II relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job and has basic knowledge of standard and technical concepts, practices, and procedures. The MFG Technician II performs a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks to include mechanical and electrical; works under moderate supervision; a team member of product production and flow.

Essential Functions:
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs in accordance to guidelines and procedures with proper setup and provide mechanical/electrical services that satisfies customer requirements and achieves manufacturing goals
Performs assembly and disassembly of basic procedures utilizing drawings, blueprints, and symbols in coordination with current standard work for generator sets, engine packages, water tanks, and other manufactured products including custom product to meet customer requirements
Participates in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) and Kiazen events to continuously improve processes, safety, and quality
Learns and performs skills to interpret blueprints, drawings, and installation processes
Assists in removal and installation of parts; disassembles and assembles components
Performs basic skills to complete work orders and assembly of products and their components
Ensures all installations/builds are in compliance with specific procedures and quality standards
Performs basics to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and failures; participate in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) team to eliminate reoccurrence
Performs and completes tasks with immediate supervision
Communicates job progress, issues, solutions and improvements to team
Performs processes as outlined in Standard Work to develop and maintain consistency between shifts and areas
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., Pro-tech Technician Training Path
Learns and performs processes as outlined in Standard Work to develop and maintain consistency between shifts and areas
Transports material in area or between areas utilizing overhead crane, jibs, carts, magnets and other devices
Works as a member of the manufacturing team to provide high quality products that satisfy the customer (internal and external) and achieves manufacturing goals
Maintains the performance of equipment and work area through regular operator checks and maintenance resulting in operational equipment and work areas in good, clean and orderly condition (Operator Performed Maintenance – OPM, and 5S)
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
Assists with quality inspections, complete reports/documents and any other necessary paperwork, and enforces required rework prior to customer
Communicate variances to established processes for an area or product
Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
Basic knowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
Operation and control skills of equipment or systems
Basic knowledge of equipment selection skills by determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
Ability to follow logical troubleshooting procedures
Ability to develop thinking and problem solving skills to learn and understand Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Ability to read, write, and understand information
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair including an overhead crane
Ability to operate a conventional forklift
Ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
Ability to be self-starting and self-motivated
Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands in order to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
Ability to read, write, and understand information
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Basic knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, gensets, and electrical
Demonstrates planning and organizing skills required to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; plan for additional resources
Additional Requirements:
Valid Driver’s license required
Must own all required mechanical/electrical hand, power and pneumatic tools
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Two or more years of work related experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
Significant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing and reaching
Constant movement and use of limbs, hands, this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath blocked and cribbed products
Frequently lifts and moves materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Requires wearing proper protective and safety equipment (PPE)
Regularly works indoors around moving equipment and exposed to flashes of light from welding, and loud noise levels
May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water and high speed rotating equipment
May works in extremely bright or inadequate lighting
Possible exposure to minor burns and cuts – must be reported for proper treatment
Exposure to high noise levels and body vibration
May be required to work in confined work spaces, awkward positions, and high places
Possible exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings
