A Manufacturing Technician works in various positions of Hardwire’s manufacturing operations, creating and assembling armor products and materials. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, initiative and a mechanical aptitude.
Position Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Technician I handles a wide variety of situations, including:
Production of armor parts to meet schedule deadlines
Operating, troubleshooting and repairing equipment used in the production process
Ensuring quality guidelines are followed as well as creating and maintaining any necessary records for the quality control process
Following all safety procedures
Maintaining knowledge and understanding of materials used and production equipment and processes
Packaging material for shipment, and helping with loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing deliveries
Cleaning the production and mechanical work areas
Assisting in the installation of new equipment and occasional light construction
Education and Experience:
Experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated mechanical skills is a plus
Experience with quality control/inspection and/or documentation is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to understand and resolve technical or mechanical difficulties
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to observe proper safety precautions
Ability to drive and/or operate a variety of equipment
Forklift certified or ability to obtain forklift certification and operate in a safe manner
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production setting and to easily adapt to changing situations while working effectively to meet deadlines
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to effectively solve problems both individually and collaboratively
Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors
Must possess integrity, sound judgment, initiative and a sense of urgency
Must be able to work various shifts (including days, evenings, nights and weekends) to meet business needs
Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations is preferable but not required
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) is preferred
Physical Demands:
The position requires frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell.
Work Environment:
Work performed in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, or oils.
