This position is for 2nd Shift (1:00 pm - 10:30 pm).\n\nThe Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\n\n * Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products\n\n * Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs\n\n * May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.\n\n * Tooling preparation and release application.\n\n * Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.\n\n * Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.\n\n * Execute to written instructions.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\n * A high school diploma and 0-2+ years\u0027 of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment.\n\n * Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment)\n\n * Demonstrated Mechanical Ability.\n\n * Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English.\n\n * Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.\n\n * Ability to work under limited supervision.\n\n * US Citizenship required\n\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Associate\u0027s degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years\u0027 minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.\n\n * Excels in a team environment.\n\n * Ability to work under limited supervision. \n\n * Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.\n\n * Ability to multitask, prioritize.\n\n * Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues.\n\n * Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.\n\n\n\n\nNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
