The Manufacturing Technician will use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment. They will determine and assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. The Manufacturing Technician works with engineers in conducting experiments. \n\n\nIn this job, you will:\n\n * Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations in ceramics fabrication. \n\n * Handling and managing fragile ceramic materials \n\n * Weighing and mixing raw materials \n\n * Preparing ceramic materials for firing in a furnace\n\n * Perform filing, grinding of ceramic materials\n\n * Assist with maintaining furnaces and processing equipment\n\n * Read and follow drawings, documentation and other instructions with strict adherence to procedural compliance.\n\n * Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware. \n\n * Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness. \n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience. \n\n * No clearance required to start\n\n * Strong attention to detail\n\n * Demonstrated mechanical ability\n\n * Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic \n\n * Able to read, write and work written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings \n\n * Excels in a team environment \n\n * Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence \n\n * Ability to work under limited supervision\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel \n\n * Experience working in a ceramic manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment) \n\n * Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues. \n\n\n\n\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
