Job Description - Manufacturing Technician - Line Support

Description

The Manufacturing Technician (Line Support) plays a critical role in supporting daily production operations. This role ensures the production team is equipped with the necessary materials, tools, and equipment to meet production targets. Acting as the first responder to production issues—including materials, assembly, and equipment—the technician troubleshoots problems, escalates when needed, and partners with Manufacturing Engineering on process improvements. They also support training efforts, maintain production data, and uphold quality and cleanroom standards to optimize efficiency and product quality. 

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:   

  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Schedule and issue work orders based on production goals and planning meetings.
  • Act as the first responder to production line issues; escalate unresolved problems to Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Perform assembly tasks and step in on the production line when needed to maintain workflow.
  • Deliver hands-on training, cross-training, and re-training for assemblers.
  • Communicate daily production goals and ensure the team is resourced to meet them.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment errors; manage equipment calibration and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assess shortages, and escalate as needed.
  • Ensure operators maintain accurate lot history records and compliance with procedures.
  • Track and report production KPIs, including yields, defects, and cycle times.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on the implementation of new assembly processes and procedure updates.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly production planning.
  • Maintain cleanroom protocols and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Manage the demo fulfillment board and coordinate demo unit builds.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Required Experience: 

  • 10+ years in medical device manufacturing.
  • Can be an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Machining (mill, lathe, general shop tools) experience and knowledge.
  • General knowledge of CGMP in an FDA Regulated Industry
  • Ability to work from 6:00 am – 2:30 pm to support the production team.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness and able to travel approximately 10% of the time. Travel may include weekends and overnight stay. 
  • Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor, and moderate noise levels.

Salary Range:
$37.45/hr - $48.13/hr ($77,900 - $100,100)*

*Base pay is one part of your total compensation. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to your experience, knowledge, skills, location, internal equity, and market alignment. Addition compensation may include bonuses and equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
