Marina Maintenance Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for a wide variety of Marina services including greeting and assisting arriving boaters, security of facilities and vessels, observing Marina structures, docks, and grounds for maintenance issues, and general upkeep of Marina facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Greet, assist, and collect fees from arriving boaters, campers and day guests


2. Actively participate in maintaining a positive customer service environment


3. Ensure security of all facilities and vessels


4. Remove debris that accumulates around docks.


5. Keep docks and slips clean and pressure washed.


6. Monitor docked vessels for any issues relating to safety of life and property


7. Clean and upkeep all marina facilities.


8. Operate marine vessels, land-based vehicles, and related equipment


9. Respond to and extinguish fires in boats, marinas, and Marina businesses and respond to any hazardous waste spills on marina property.


10. Coordinate with the Marina Manager to work with Tribal Fire on all vegetation management.


11. Report criminal activities to Police Department and Tribe or appropriate agencies


12. Perform repairs and maintenance around Marina as needed


13. Direct parking lot or vessel/camper movement as needed


14. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.


2. Possession of a valid CA State driver's license is required.


3. Must be available on nights and weekends.


4. CPR/BLS/First Aid Certification.


5. Completion of the Swift Water Training Course.


6. A boater’s license is required to operate the marine vessels.


7. HAZWOPER training/certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. 
   Previous experience working in a marina or similar waterfront facilities is preferred.

NATIVE PREFERENCE

Preference in hiring is given to either the most qualified applicant or a Native American candidate who meets the minimum qualifications. When two (2) or more Native American candidates have comparable qualifications, the following order of preference shall apply: (1) Members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (2) Spouses or domestic partners (certified through Tribal Court) of members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (3) Parents of children of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (4) All other documented Native Americans; (5) All other applicants in accordance with Title 25, U.S. Code, Section 472 and 473. Applicants claiming Native preference must submit verification of Indian eligibility.
