River Valley Marine is hiring a Marine Buyer & Consignment Specialist in Rochester, MN. This role focuses on sourcing, evaluating, consigning, and selling used boats while building strong relationships with private sellers and buyers in the boating community.

This is not an entry-level position. Ideal candidates have hands-on marine experience and a strong understanding of boat values, condition, and market demand.

Compensation
Base salary plus commission structure
Typical earnings of $75,000–$95,000 annually
Top performers earning $100,000+
Income driven by inventory acquisition, deal structure, and gross profit
Strong inbound leads and established customer base

Schedule
Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a weekday off
Flexible schedule required during peak boating season

Marine Buyer & Consignment Specialist Responsibilities
Source and acquire quality used boats from private sellers and trade-in opportunities
Build and manage a profitable consignment inventory of pre-owned boats
Evaluate boat condition, features, and market pricing to determine value
Negotiate purchase and consignment terms with sellers and buyers
List and sell boats using platforms such as Facebook Marketplace and Messenger
Assist with showroom sales, events, and customer interactions
Manage titles, contracts, and all required sales documentation accurately
Maintain clean, organized lot and showroom presentation
Follow dealership sales processes and inventory management standards

Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of boats including models, condition, and valuation
Experience in marine, powersports, or dealership environments preferred
Confident working independently with performance-based expectations
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Experience using Facebook Marketplace and digital sales platforms
Detail-oriented with contracts, paperwork, and transaction accuracy
Self-motivated, reliable, and results-driven
Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Backgrounds
Marine technician
Service advisor
Boat sales or used boat manager
Marine or powersports dealership experience
Experience with Lightspeed, Lightspeed EVO, DP360, or Excel is a plus
