Marine Terminal Worker

This is a Union position. Membership in IBOB Local 802 is mandatory after 30 calendar days.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other team members to do the same.
• Safely drive forklifts ranging from 3,500 to 55,000 LB capacity Safely drive an Ottawa style Yard Jockey Truck (aka "Yard Hustler")
• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRMENTS:

• Must currently have a valid TWIC.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
• Must be capable of using material handling technology.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will perform physical labor including handling twist locks (@ 12 lbs each) and shared lifting of lashing bars (up to 50 lbs.).* Must be willing to work at heights over/near water.

Working conditions and Environment: This work is performed in a noisy industrial environment.

Pay: $18.50 - $22.45 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Requirements

ENTRY POSITION: The ideal candidate will be able to lash/secure containers on barges, operate jockey truck with loaded trailer; and operate a forklift in a refrigerated warehouse.

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required.
