About the role


The Market Clinical Manager is responsible for developing and monitoring day-to-day management and long-term planning of the clinical staff. The Market Clinical Manager directs and develops staff collaborating with physicians, operational leadership. Additionally, the Market Clinical Manager maintains nurse clinical guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. Demonstrates competency and skills to serve a diverse geriatric population, and care for a lead diverse clinical workforce.


What you'll do

  • Ensure patient information remains secure and confidential.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following Sage Health policy and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Manages market clinical staff.
  • Coordinate and supervises (directly or indirectly) the activities of the clinical team members engaged in clinical care for patients under the supervision of a physician or provider for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, interview, hire, training, and performance evaluation of clinical staff members.
  • Partners with the Clinical Lead, Center Medical Director, and Center Manager in the interview and selection of clinical staff i.e. Medical assistants, echo tech.
  • Oversees daily clinical activities in the market.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, and work standards and monitors adherence.
  • Formulates, monitors clinical supply budgets.
  • Implement or recommend disciplinary action as needed in conjunction with Center Manager and Human Resources. Document all disciplinary action.  
  • Recommends and participates in the selection and purchasing decisions of medical equipment and supplies.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Market Medical Director or designee, identifies and provides appropriate resources and information to assist patients and their family members related to their diagnosis.
  • Holds regular cadence of meetings, and communications with the following: clinical staff, physician, and operations leadership.
  • Evaluate performance of clinical team members and conduct verbal and written performance evaluations after 30 days, 90 days and annually as needed.
  • Ensures that the entire clinical operation at the center(s) is running effectively and efficiently.
  • Participates in center and market interdisciplinary team meeting related to patient care plans, and outcomes.
  • Ensures the overall quality of healthcare for each patient.
  • Responsible for clinical competencies of all clinical staff I.e., medical assistants, and clinical leads
  • Ensures patient electronic health records are updated with the most recent medical treatments by clinical staff i.e., medical assistants, echo techs, etc.
  • Ensure clinical policies and procedures comply with current state and federal regulations and OSHA, and CLIA requirements and regulations. Identify and recommend policies and procedures as needed to ensure quality, compliance, accuracy, and cost efficiency.  
  • Ensures clinical areas remain in a state of readiness for health plan audits, local, state, and federal inspections.
  • Responsible for staying up to date and knowledgeable of all nursing regulations in support of the clinical staff.
  • Provides hands on medical assistant coverage in the event of short staff, or high census.
  • Responsible for staffing levels and coverage within all centers in the market.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualification


 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Degree in Nursing
  • Valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support
  • 4-5 years' experience working in a hospital or other medical facility.
  • 2-3 years' experience in multi-site management.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with chronic disease management.
  • Experienced working in medically underserved/culturally diverse communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Resourcefulness in problem solving.
  • Ability to follow through with assigned tasks and accountability.
  • Experience working with an electronic health record.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must be willing to travel to centers within market or other locations I.e., new markets, corporate.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Managed care experience I.e. Medicare HMO, D-SNP
  • Knowledge of HEDIS/STARS
  • Knowledge of CAHPS and HOS
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Management or Leadership
  • Experienced in motivational interviewing
  • Bilingual Spanish and English
