Marketing and Communications Specialist 1

Department:

Engineering | Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

The position will collaborate primarily with the lead Communications Specialist of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), assisting with increasing department local, national, and international visibility by helping to execute all aspects of MAE marketing, promotion and communication plans. In coordination with other MAE staff and faculty, this position will help to produce all department publications – including articles, social media material, graphic designs, reports, pamphlets, newsletters, digital content and promotional materials. This position will also help conduct interviews, write articles and publish stories of MAE students, faculty and alumni. This role is highly collaborative with fellow employees in MAE, College of Engineering and the University, and will be responsible for providing marketing and communication support while ensuring all college and University guidelines and requirements are followed.


MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent degree. 0 years of relevant experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum required education and 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically InDesign and Premiere)
  • Experience in long and short form video editing
  • Experience in creating graphics and designs
  • Strong writing and oral communication abilities
  • Experience working with website management platforms (e.g. Drupal)
  • Experience working with marketing automation platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Constant Contact)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience in photography is a plus

Familiarity with AP Style is a plus

Pay rate: $21.35 - $34.42/hr.

The actual pay rate to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
